Rescue . . .

The Dickinson Rural Fire Department sponsers two advanced technical services. The first component is Heavy Rescue. The rescue squad is made up of volunteer firefighters specially trained in auto and heavy equipment extrication. The firefighters receive extensive training as well as continuing education to maintain a State Certification. This training and commitment from the firefighters is the backbone in providing superior service to the community in times of need. The rescue squad deploys state of the art equipment including Hurst Rescue Equipment and the “Jaws of Life”.

Dive Team . . .

The second component is the Dive Team. This team is made up of volunteers from the Dickinson Rural Fire Department, City of Dickinson Fire Department, and the Stark County Sheriff’s Department. These volunteers go above and beyond in fulfilling the rigorous training requirements to be a member of this team. The training includes General Open Water Certification, Advance Open Water Certification, Rescue Diver Certification, and Ice Rescue Certification. Members of the Dive team also donate one day a month for continuing education and diving. This additional training helps our divers stay proficient in their skills to provide “second to none” service to our community. The dive team is very fortunate in utilizing the West River Community Center for trainings. The support given to the Dickinson Rural Fire Department by Dickinson Parks and Recreation for training shows the dedication of our community in helping to provide this service. The Dive Team covers a majority of Southwest North Dakota.
